Default Rear end adjustment

Yes, I do a pair of replacement adjustable tie bars, in-situ adjustable by having 2 rosejoints. 1 at either end, ie. 1 left hand and 1 right hand thread. Eliminates all rubber bushes, special link assembly goes in rear bottom Eye in place of those horrible bushes. Rear toe is adjustable like on the standard setup by shortening or lenghthening the tie bars (trailing arms) Watch out though, wont fit if using massively wide rear wheels with more inset, the tyre could catch on the trailing arm.

Ultimate setup is by replacing the rear wishbone by twin parallel bars but coil overs are then required.

See the website for details: www.mefmotorsport.com

wow,the stuff you do is koolio

can you turn water into wine, whilst wheelieing a big bike?

dont the rose joints come in for a bit of a bashing on the trailing arms then, hence the need for bushes as standard,>?
and did you say the tie/trailing arms fit the standard pivot arms?

Yes, I agree, the life expectancy of rose-joints is always going to be a lot less than rubber bushes. The ones I use are quite large (5/8 x 5/8) and rated at 16,000lbs loading so they can take some serious stick. In the grand scheme of things though, the cost of replacing them more often isn't that much when you consider the improvement they give and how much you spent on that engine!

Yes, the trailing arms (or rear tie rods as they are sometimes called) will fit straight on a bog standard car with NO other mods at the rear.

Would you suggest using rubber boots to extend the life of the joint or could these trap dirt/water?

Moonie,

Yes, I would recommend using a rubber boot on the rosejoint but also I think its a good idea to pack it with thick grease. I tried some rubber boots on some on my car once and as you say, they trapped water inside and actually caused corrosion, a liberal packing with grease might be the answer. You can get them from Rally Design.

Ok, think im going to fit rubber boots to rosejoints and pack them with grease, try to extend the lifetime of the joint a little longer.

Just had a look on the rally design website at the boots, they are only a couple of £ so worth a go.

OK, yes, If you send me a deposit, say £10, I will keep a pair aside at this "Group buy" price until you are ready, can't say fairer than that!

This applies to any others from the original list too. I'd judt like to delete those who were just dreaming!

I am quite happy for any else to join in the group buy, the production line is up and running....slowly!

I dont charge any extra % for those using paypal, I just ask for enough to cover what they deduct, that amounts to about 4%, in this case £6.

He'll be back online shortly, had to re-format his PC to get rid of a virus it thinks it picked up.

I do know he is just waiting on a couple of parts though Most of the cutting of the TCA's has been done, all the rose joints are in stock etc, as soon as the missing parts come in he'll be on the case

Default Group buy update

Hi folks......Sorry for the absence from the thread, as Tony said my PC got infected with spyware which resulted in a re-format etc

Anyway, back up and running now so here's the current situation:

The first 5 pairs were initially sent out as they were in stock already. I started building up a second batch of 5, the group buy has gone well beyond that now so have ordered extra parts for a third batch.

There are 2 problems, firstly a bad batch of 7/8UNF half nuts, I am waiting for the engineering company to supply replacements as the thread is cock-eyed, ie. they dont screw on straight!

Secondly I am also waiting on the engineering company to supply the "Forks" (for the 3rd batch) which is the part that gets welded onto the new TCA with the 7/8UNF stub on it.

I am hoping to get the nuts this week and expecting to be sending out the second batch of TCA's. I am away over next weekend in Belgium for the Monteberg rallysprint so I won't be around from early Friday am 'till late on Monday 8th so unfortunately I wont be getting any more done till after that.

Sorry about the above delays but it's out of my control and partly due to the incoming payments being initially very slow so very difficult for me to predict the scale of the group buy in the first place and hence how much money to invest in the parts up front if you see what I mean. This is not an excuse, just fact!

Thanks for being patient....

Martin
