Buffalo girls go round the outside round the outside..............
So buffaloing is going around the outside of scoobys on roundabouts etc.
Yes i know were all mad

Hi Dave,
OK, yes Tony told me about the proposed group buy....
I dont know if you are aware but the design of my TCA's is slightly different than some others available in that I use a larger (5/8 x 5/8) rosejoint and special off-set spacers, this is to retain the correct geometry.
Let me explain, the standard TCA's have the inner end bush at a considerable angle to the axis of the TCA arm. This means that if you were to simply chop off the inner bush and replace it with a rosejoint, then the angle that the rosejoint would have to sit at for the TCA to be in the correct position would be extreeme and cause binding of the spherical joint. It would be impossible to be able to set up the TCA to achieve even the standard Ford castor and camber settings. Certainly the effect would severely reduce the standard castor setting (hardly what is required!)
My design incorporates a spherical joint with a larger ball which can accommodate the severe angle that it has to sit at. This is further enhanced by the use of "off-set" spacers, which put the inner end of the TCA further back in the mounting, to allow correct castor angle to be achieved without binding of the joint. I have made a special jig which I assemble these TCA's on, based from a standard TCA so I know that my modified TCA's achieve the standard static length and position in the jig. Those of other manufacturers that dont have this design will NOT fit in the jig made from the standard TCA and therefore cannot achieve the Ford settings. I am actually amazed that people buy TCA's that cant possibly fit and achieve even the standard settings.
The normal price for my TCA's is £165 a pair. I am willing to supply them for £150 a pair based on a group buy of 10 pairs. The price would still be the same for more than 10 pairs. I'm sorry I can't offer a bigger discount but there is not a verly large profit margin in these items for me anyway due to the very high cost of the high quality rosejoint.
I currently have 4 pairs in stock and ready for despatch, delivery of more would be in the region of 2 weeks.
I hope this is useful, feel free to use my technical explanation on the group buy thread,
Postage would be £10 a pair,
Payment by cheque or Paypal (but plus 4% to cover their charges)
Cheers,

Hi Folks....OK, the price is £150 A PAIR plus £10 P&P.
Payment by cheque, electronic transfer or Paypal (but + 4% on total).
Please e-mail me individually for details of accounts etc:
Martin@mefmotorsport.com or phone 07837 721986
First paid, first delivered basis on the stock ones, after that I will have to manufacture a full batch so it will be a couple of weeks before I can get them together.
Please note, if your car has been lowered excessively, I might have to make them a bit shorter than standard so as you can get more adjustment so let me know! (but always remember that there is a limit to how much camber you can remove by reducing the length of the bottom arm)
Cheers,
Martin

40mm is about the limit that can be catered for with the standard length adj TCA that I make. I set them up in a jig to the standard length. The amount of adjustment available will just about be adequate to get a decent camber setting but if the car is lower than this there wont be enough adjustment remaining to reduce the camber. I can make the starting length 10mm less but remember that you are starting to put considerable "pull" against the anti-roll bar which is not ideal.
It would really be better to move the top mount outwards to reduce the camber than to make a massive reduction in the TCA's length. The problem is that it's difficult to make an eccentric topmount for the shape of the front turret as its not such a big diameter like on a Sierra etc.

Martin,
Thanks for the explanation.
My car is mainly fast road/track orientated, do you think I will actually end up increasing rather than reducing camber?
How much total adjustment do the arms allow? +/-??
Does adjustment of the arms have any effect on castor settings?
Thanks for the explanation.

OK Thanks Akito-man, you have mail too!
OK John, remember that you will ALWAYS reduce camber if the TCA is shorter than the standard one! I think you will find that they will be fine for your car.
I'm not sure what the adjustment translates to in degrees but I recon they will do about +-20mm over the standard length.
It's all very well lowering the car (and probably looks good) but remember that the more you lower it, the less the suspension travel will be before you're on the bump stops, that can be VERY dangerous and create horrible handling. Once you hit the bump stops the car will become very skittish on bumps and skate over the road surface. From my experience most people over do the lowering thing just for the looks and never think about suspension travel. If you really want to lower it to excess then it's better to lift the strut tops up and keep the travel, like they do on many rally cars.

OK Red 16,
Many thanks for the Payment by Paypal, you are the first in the queue!
By the way, I notice you have an RS1600i, you might also be interested some time in a pair of replacement front tension struts which have a solid adjustable link to the TCA instead of those nasty rubber affairs! They retain the standard front joint from your existing tension struts but are thick walled CDS tube for extra strength and powder coated, £150 a pair. (as used on Nuts Rus's rally car) These compliment the rosejointed TCA's and complete the front end upgrade.
I have also received several phone calls of others confirming interest in the TCA's so the payments should be coming in soon.
Cheers,
Martin

The S1 tension struts are in the .pdf on the website - they use bling rose joints.
:. Clicky .:
The 16i ones retain your original front joints but do away with the useless clamp affair. I think they are £150 a pair.
![](https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v53/tij909/1374db01.jpg)
Again its all thick walled tube thats used to produce them essential for fast road/track safety.
And for testimony this weekend I actually smashed my front ali crossmember in 3 places (which took some doing) the MEF TCA's and front tension struts all remained in tact, and possibly saved it from being far worse than what it actually was
I'm Martin's crash test dummy

Red16,
Yes, I'll have to get a pic off Nuts' car, or maybe he can supply one? I don't seem to have a pic of them here on my PC.
