Master cylinder
im trying to sort the brakes on my s2 rst and i was wondering..ive got cossie 4x4 calipers on the front and il soon have cossie brakes on the back.do i have to change the master cylinder to cope or will mine handle it?
also has any1 removed the weight actuating valve on the rear?does it make that much difference? as i think mine mite have had it!

sorry mate just woundering when u fit cossie brakes will they just bolt stright on or not and is there any difference between 2wd and 4wd front calipers? thanks

shane: Being a S2 you shouldn't have much of a problem changing the rear to discs. Check that your master cylinder has 25 on the side, 23 or 22 and things won't be so good. Changing the rear to discs will make a difference to the travel of the pedal since the surface area of the piston is a lot larger than that of the drum cylinders.
Paul17: I have a 2wd set up on mine, the calipers will pretty much bolt straight on the front, u will have to tap the hubs with an M12 thread which is easy peasy lemon squeezey, and then u have 2 choices, either bolt the calipers straight on and u will have to buy rotors to line the discs up,
OR
Have a small amount machined off the inside of the calipers and then u can use standard 2wd discs.
And as for the caliper differences, 2wd are 4 pot, 4wd are single pot

They're like 2 part discs, the rotor is the centre bit which goes over the wheel studs, and can be bought in various offsets to allow you to mix and match calipers etc, and then the actual disc part bolts to the rotor.
M12 thread, any good fastening place of hardware store. MAKE SURE u bolt them on with high tensile steel bolts!!!!!!!!!!!!
My set up i used standard discs as the calipers were already machined, i think the rotors will work out more expensive. You will also have to take into consideration where the brake pipe runs, when you fit up a 2wd caliper u will see the pipe connection points directly at the CV joint
