i know,if it lasts another 18 yr then suppose it aint too bad,everything on the car is like or is new now,

missus aint chuffed,then i pointed out she wasnt payin for it,

i also told her ,that her new punto of 2001,has had 3 exhausts
last one is a peco i fitted which is good

new brakes ,rear wheel bearing, ecu remapped 4 times ,at our cost,all its servicing,pluss it blew its engine up (under warranty,a bad batch of cars apparently,as 45 of the same had the same prob)(leaking head gasket=kabooom!) 3 sets of tyres(60thou miles),4 rear door straps,a new rear seat,(from new as there where rattles in the orig)oh yes and a new sump ,at our cost,this includes taking the gearbox,exhaust off as it has hidden bolts,the orig was rusted through.at our cost.

i think ill write this down and tell fiat ,its pretty bad when you consider the car is an elx,cost near 10k i know,its the full spec ,leccy windows ,abs,upgraded stereo,upgraded interior,dash etc,and has been dealer serviced since new,(oh i failed to mention,shes had it back from servicing with,wait for it,oil on the seat,the footwell,the airbox spring missing ,the engine bay coated in oil(from engine prob ),all of which where rectified after i showed my er lets say CONCERN>

Well theres no reason why that servo won't last. I know the story everything has been replaced and the shell will rot through next its always the way

That sounds like a fucking joke to me, i'd of torched the place by now, when i started reading the list i thought u were realing off everything for your RS which would be a bit more understadable

This is why i'm a fan of buying cheap shitters, best car i ever had was a MK5 escort i paid £25 for with 9 months MOT, engine was seriously wanked but £80 in parts and all fitted by me:

Second hand head, old one had bent valves
Head gasket set
Cam belt
Water pump
Heater matrix
Thermostat

and when i bought it it was running on 2 cylinders, but the kiddy before said it never ran until they found the push rod for the fuel pump (1.4LX carbeurettor) was snapped.

To be frank the state of everything to do with the engine was i'd love to know in what order all these things went wrong i really would, before i even bought the car i had agreed to give him what he paid which was £70, but i whipped the head off thinking it was head gasket and saw the bent valves, so i said nah u can get bent im not paying £70 for this now. So got a 2nd hand head and a gasket set, put it together and the thing started first click i was well pleased, but then when it got hot i felt water splashing on my face.......so i got a pump, so that was that. I was always aware of the matrix so i had already disconnected it and joined the pipes. Then i took it to my mate to track it up and change the oil and i noticed it wasn't maintaining heat so then came the thermostat. Shortly after i put a matrix in and then it was excellent never played up once, did a good 11,000 miles in it in the 9 months, never smoked either which was absolutely gob smacking. The only reason i got rid of it was cos i smashed it on a wall pissing around the day before i was going to put 12 months MOT on it

Never mind though lol it didnt owe me anything, but i still wonder to this day what went wrong and in what order. Oh yeah and when i whipped the head off it was blatantly obvious the head had already been off at some point and put back together with old head gasket, old bolts, and the bolt holes completely chocka with shit. The head gasket was FUCKED aswell my mate whos a mechanic was pissin himself he said he had NEVER seen one that fucked, i kept it as a souvenir i think im going to frame it, ill take a picture in a bit and show you

Oh and the icing on the cake, the car had a good £10-£15 of petrol in it when i got it aswell, it had some 6x9's in the shelf which i sold for £8, the starter motor off it was original ford and in a good state, that now starts my RS Turbo cabby, and i just sold the Sparco gear knob it had in it for £15 on eBay

Oh and ive just remembered the guy that was hounding it to have it off for me for scrap metal im sure paid me £10 aswell
