Default Mk3 Cab to Turbo Conversion

A friend of mine is thinking about turbo'in her cab but is unsure how straight forward this is??

Do you need a s1 loom and engine or can it be done with a s2 one??

Does it neeed to be a s1 engine or can you mix a s1 loom and s2 engine??

Advise please

If the cars a Mk3 you'll need a Series 1 loom for it to be a simple swap without having to alter any plugs etc. The engine side of it as far as i know you can mix and match but you'll need a series 1 ECU. Easy thing to do you just need to take your time.

As said series 1 loom will make it the easiest swap, but if your going to do that it is best to run the series 1 ECU's, the engine makes no difference at all this way round, but if say you put in a series 2 loom you would be better off running series 2 ecu's, but the series 2 engine has a couple of extra sensors which are quite important to have in order to get the most out of it. All combinations of mixing will work and operate, just not as well as keeping things together.

My MK3 cabriolet was turbo'd by myself a year ago
