if a car has passed an MOT, but an advisory sheet given stating..
low tyre tread. And........"heavily welded".
would it go through the mot next yr if no welding was required?????
replies appreciated.

If it's been welded and done properly then it shouldn't be a problem, if it's corroded again or in other places then obviously it'll need to be looked at.
How much work has been done?

This isnt on my RS but another car i brought, but i paid £1500 for it then found an advisory and mot failure with this on:
Reason(s) for refusal to issue Certificate
1. Nearside Front floor pan suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded 2.4.A.2
2. Rear both rear inner sills suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded 2.4.A.2
3. Nearside Rear wheel arch suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded 2.4.A.2
4. both floor to sills suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded 2.4.A.2
5. both steering rack gaiter split 2.2.D.1d
6. Offside Rear tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm 4.1.D.1
7. all direction indicators not in good working order (not working) 1.5.A1b
8. hazard warning lamps not flashing in phase, with ignition on 1.5.A4a
9. hazard warning lamps not flashing in phase, with ignition off 1.5.A4a
10. Offside windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid 8.2.3
11. engine will not idle exhaust idle speed too high 7.3.A.1a
12. brake pedal creeps down when held under pressure 3.3.B.1a
Advisory Items:
1. Nearside Rear tyre worn close to the legal limit 4.1.D.1
2. slight wear ns rack joint.engine and gearbox oil leaks.
then its passed with an advisory saying:

yer sometimes if a car has been failed then repaired and then retested most testers will advise on corrosion and heavily welded doesnt mean much normally just to cover the tester if anything goes wrong,,as long as the repairs done properly nowt to worry over
