mine for sum reason goes way above red when i start my car.
now i cant tell my engine temp. what would cause this to happen?
faulty fuse? loose wire? knackered temp guage??
car is not overheating and fan kicks in and out

Steve, When u turn the ignition on does it straight away shootup to the top of the guage and stay there? If so then I think u have the temp guage sender not connected right, i know when we were sorting my over heating probs out we could test the guage was working by putting a screwdriver in the sender and it would send the guage up and down just to test it. Dunno if yours would be the same thing ? lol dont want it running inthe red m8!! Mine dont go over 1/4 at the mo

 

lol its goes right up when on ignition.
i think the wire to the temp guage is breaking away.
i will try the screw driver trick.
ps mine stays on the blue when driving and doesnt go above half in traffic

Right u unpluged my temp gauage send on my head and the guage went all the way down, i cleaned the terminals ups and plugged it back in, then it went back upto the top.
i notices the temp send head moves up and down aven though the actual nut is on tight is that right?? plus it has a pink ring round it

 

Im not too sure what the colour for the sender should be, will check mine and let u know.
