Default boost question??

cleaned the car this morning and gave the engine bay a bit of a polish to and i found what seems to be a bleed valve under the top boost hose which obviously is connected to the amal valve etc,it is fully closed as the engine was rebuilt 700 miles ago although it is boosting at 10psi is this normal and can i use this to adjust the boost safely, not really sure if a bleed valve is basically a boost adjuster as all bleed valves i know of are brass and this one is silver with a blue top ?? any help on this please

could be a manual boost controller - get a pic.

and no, you cant just adjust it for more boost - it needs doing by a tuner with adequate fueling adjustments!

Take heed of the above. If you don't and mess around with it yourself, you can say a very fast good bye to that new engine of yours.

As above, don't mess with it. Let a tuner do it, so that the fuelling can be checked.

Also, if it is Silver/Blue, I would imagine that its Alloy. These aren't ideal due to the fact that they are affected by heat. Brass is better!
