From: Macclesfield - you'll never leave....!
if its a small turbo...
large turbo - a new pump is Ł105, plus a new gasket Ł1.15 and you dont have to unbolt much at all, cam belt cover, top hoses and the aux belt shoul just slip off as teh alternator is spring loaded

yeah it's a large turbo, what exactly is the best way of going about it? what needs taken off etc.....i know it all looks a bit tight in there. would like to try it myself but scared of ballings up something. does the radiator or anything need to come out?

the trickiest part is making sure you get a good tight fit on the short hose joining the thermostat. You need to take this off too so get a gasket for this aswell. I'd also advise getting two of each gaskets incase anything goes wrong.
Oh and take note of whch way the alternator belt goes on. I forgot and it took me ages to realise
It will take 3 or fours hours if you take your time and it looks like it would be far easier without the rad in as you can come through the front rather than contort your wrists.
