Wrong sunshine! There's only a couple of small turbo montes!

Mirrors arnt a give away either, as you could get small turbos on big turbo escorts- one for example although not a monte is Redkops- that had Big T mirrors and was a small turbo!

The 6000 miler you mention, think it was Karl who approached him to sell- he said 30k wouldnt own it!

 

Maxest would love to know Micks' monte production date as it must be one of the first ST's and last Monte
Also does Lynn's also have the BT fuel filler like Micks?

Thats a good 1 of me mates, funnly enough another 1 of me mates wrote that saph off thats infront of it but that pic must have been taken well before either of them owned the 2 cars

The Monte prototype from Dunton believed to be no. 000 reg:- L820 KPU








Check out the lack of Whale tail, the oval side repeaters, the tinted rear lights and although its hard to see in these pics the 'Monte' decals on the doors and tailgate are actually 'Motorsport' in the same font (like the Montes have stitched on the seats and number plaque). Also on one side of the car the OZ wheels have the OZ racing logos but plain centre caps and on the other side the wheels are plain with no centre caps.

The feature claims the Monte was supposed to come with Recaro A8 seats and aluminium pedals... but then it also claimed it was only availible in Jewel Violet

yep this is mine now, has different wheels, brakes , suspension, engine etc now as you know they are big money pits lol

the saff in front was rs gus`s of here, we bought it as a rolling shell and rebuilt it with a crash damaged on then it got wrote off a few months later lol

Who re-arranged the rear Ford badge and Monte decal?

 

It had a general touch up and respray some years ago (end of the 90's), not because of any accident damage, just wear and tear. Must have happened then. The badges have been nicked and replaced on a couple of occasions, at least once since then.

Right now it could do with another respray - minor dings/scratches, someone has taken a screwdriver to the rear wing, paint is cracking on the rear bumper. The wheels are in need of a full refurb too - quite a bit of corrosion on each.

A lovely car though. My parents have had it from new, and it'll be mine next year. I've been inspired by Damo's refurb thread a while back, and want to get this one back up to concours standard.

Yeah Malta drive on the same side of the road as us 004 and 181 are also in Malta and are RHD. Jordan says there is definalty a RHD Jewel Violet aswell that he will get me the number and pics off

The guy I know in Malta was saying an Escort Cosworth to buy in Malta is about Ł28K 2nd hand because of registration taxes etc

Although those cool number plates are about Ł600 in Malta

 

hey paul! you got a slight mistake mate, they are only 80 sterling mate. the registration is the biggest bitch, it's about 9,600 sterling for an escos and about 6,700 for a sapph.
