Shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear at over 4k rpm crunches badly (fine below that) - I figure at some point soon I'm gonna need a new 'box.

How much am I looking at for a brand new MT75? How much for a recon unit? Is there much difference between a new and recon unit? I'm going for a standard clutch - how much are they? What sort of labour time is involved?

Can anyone recommend a decent garage in the Sussex area, or am I better off rocking up to my local main dealer?

Good point - how many hours would it take, and what would the cost be? I'm in no position to do it myself. I was under the impression that it was easier to get a new unit (well, new or recon) and trade in the worn one.
