The Diff mounts are made by Compbrake, they are not made from various pieces tig welded, like the others which are a little hit and miss on quality and the base plates are generally distorted from the heat of welding them. (take a look at the others before you say the quality of ours is poor!)

The quality of them is far superior to any other ive seen, which is why we are happy to sell them and the feed back we have from customers using them is also very good.

The bolt issue should be sorted, we know there was an issue when we first had them made, so we have had a shorter bolt kit supplied with them now.
It also seems the thread depth varies from diff to diff, as ive fitted quite a few here myself and never had one that doesnt fit but every now and then one would pop up where they were too long.

Hope that clears it up for you.

The GGR ones are pretty much identical to ours, they used to sell the blue anodised one from the states as we also did. It seems they didnt like the quality of them either.

Sorry james i have my wires crossed the diff mount you sell is very good quality and i have one myself and didn't realise it was made by comp brake funnily enough the bolt that came with mine where a bit too long but i just cut them down. The diff mount i was reffering to when i said 'they look shit' was the flo flex one which looks like a few scraps of metal welded together.

cheers,
Phil

i might stop the sale of the drop links if they are not fitting. Its not at all what we aim for.
We had no input into the design of them at all, it was just something that we sold as part of the CDF products deal.

we found that 1 out of 10 were perfect, sadly it was the other 9 we had issues with.

poor finish, chipped, scratched, poor welding, distorted bases, having to re design the mounting plates so they didnt foul the ARB, etc etc.

I must have been one of the lucky ones with the welded ones then, as everything provided was spot on, unlike a lot of people with the comp brake ones

A lot?

we do sell quite a few, i`d say 1 or 2 percent have had issues, which we have hopefully resolved. And we are happy to work with our customers to resolve any issues they may have.

But then people generally wouldnt post on here to say how well things fit, or how the bolts were the correct length would they? People generally post up regarding issues or problems to try and get some help.
so we will never know about all the happy people fitting our mount.

Hi James ... The ones you sold from the states , where they from Ch. Grayson from MC2Racing ? If so I and several of my friends run one of those and it looks, works and fits perfect and done it for years ... I know that a one piece CNC made one would probertly be better as there are no welds and so on, but the state ones where quite good before as I recall from different threads here on PF and other sites and if any bad things are to be told about any product it is normally out in public quite quickly ... or am I mistaken here ?

We tried not to send out any bad ones, we ended up with our own process of checking and removing any bad ones, which were a lot!

Some of them were fine, but it was such a problem for us paying for them to be shipped to us just to find half of them were no good or lots needed work before they could get shipped, we just dont have the time for it.

I know 3 people personally, who have recently bought a diff mount from you, and have had problems of some sort.

Be it hole alignments on the plate, or bolt length etc

People tend to just sort it themselves than phone and tell you, it's less hassle!

And I know a couple of people, and myself, who have had the welded ones, and had no bother

Well from selling both, I know the facts that the new single piece one is far more reliable and better quality

I lost count of how many had issues with the old one. which is why we knew there was a serious issue and that we had to look at other options.

i think the problems are also due to the hit and miss holes in the sierra floors which aren't exactly measured accurately before they were welded up

if i've had fitting issues with suspension struts that foul on one car and don't on others, i think it's a bit unfair to single out one particular item that's been produced on a large scale by several different companies, especially when the issues are more to do with the bolts being too long rather than the actual unit that's being fitted

anyway, whats the end reslut on the drop links?

im looking into bulk buying some KY Jelly. You can get massive things into very small holes using this.

imho bolts that are too long isn't a problem....just cut them down, bolts that are too short, a different story.

Getting back to the drop links the quality of the product is spot on. the problem is the bush design which can be over come with a small mod to the arb and rear arm mounting lugs.

James maybe just mention that modification is required to fit the drop links and chuck in a few stainless bolts and washers, rather than having the bushes all re made as stainless bolts and washers are pennies (just an idea)

it maybe pennies for bolts and washers, but what about the people that would then have to have the arb removed and pay to have the work carried out? not ideal for something that should be a simple job

I had issues with MSD diff mount . Bolts to long and didn't line up properly .
Also the plate the bolt goes through( 2holes ) concave
I'd been sent 2 plates the same and didn't sit properly

I think these issues need to be addressed as clearly I was proper f##ked off with this , rung MSD and they said never had an issue

Has the design of the drop link bushes been changed yet?!

Got my coated rear beam and arms etc back now and need new ones but don't want problems fitting them!!

Also do flo flex still sell them?! Vaguely remember ringing them up a while back and they had said they stopped selling them?!
