I think I know what you mean :-(
I hope I can get one from LHD Escos being broken by TF Rallysport
The whole matter with parts unavalible from Ford is scandal I think. You can buy parts for Subarus from 70's and for Merc from 20's and you cannot buy for 7 year old Ford :-/

Had the same situation with some front strut parts. Fotunatly my tuner is now working in Ford Poland so maybe it's going to be easier.

I got mine from Dovercourt Ford in Chelmsford, Just spoken to them again to see if it is still available, and apparently they are now selling them as seperates, so you can just buy the leather gator
Works out about £22 inc VAT for the gator alone

I fitted just a brand new gaitor(PVC) on my mates esc cos as it was worn and flaking. He got just the gaitor from a guy on E-bay.The original is stapled into position,so we removed the consol and took out the stapels, then re-stapled the new one in.Job done! Thing is i too need one!

Hi ...
I checked ALL the Ford systems yesterday (Wednesday) UK and all other countries. There is nothing left thats cataloged .. nor obsolete stock. That goes for the console OR the separate service gaiter we sold to suit (released 1993) I do have a drawing, but it has no exact measurements : (
What could be found, is an odd one that's not on anyone's syetem .. or it is being substituted by a non-original one : )

You seam to know such things - what is the couse for such politics of Ford. There are lots of parts for Ford Cosworth cars for which there is pretty high demand at least in hundreds of units and they won't produce them, why is that? Surely there could be some outreagous price and so on but why not? I really can't understand why yuo can get EVERYTHING for 1960's Subarus and 1920's Mercedes and you cannot get basic stuff for legendary Ford models. Is somebody out there out of his mind?

Hi there!
Unfortunately, Ford have always had a service life policy (the time period for which parts are supplied, and supported after PRODUCTION line time) One of the main factors is the amount of orders in a certain period of time. Trim and Electrical parts tend to go first. This support period has also decreased rapidly with introduction of "world" cars like Focus. I'm not happy with it, as many others who car about the cars we are supposed to support! I have an '88 BMW MTech, and can get anything almost overnight. I dont think it can change much .. Politics/Money/Market position, etc. The retool costs are huge, another reason. It could cost the same as the SALE of 1000 units to get these Cossie gaiters back in stock, for instance; Most are outside contractors. This becomes more expensive with European/Central Europe remanufacture to organise. Many at Ford Europe have been made redundant due to cutbacks .. Ford Racing cutbacks .. All suffer. Escort RS is probably the last real RS : (
Best Regards to you all : )

I can understand all that, but why the fuck then nobody at Ford won't even sell you documentation for making those parts? Why nobody cares? Ford RS brand cars are legendary and best marketing make can have. In every dealership I know there are models of Escos similar to mine in glass box somewhere and in one dealership in which I do buy parts from time to time they even have whole wall with letters of thanks - some from rally crews who driven Fords. Why then is it affordable for Mercedes to have whole factory that makes obsolete parts? And Ford not?
My car when I bought it was really in bad shape and I needed to change the rear of the floor pan - In Ford Europe, UK, Poland nobody even answered my e-mail about some info on how it schould look like. I can understand there are some body parts unavailible. I can even understand they don't support I don't know... Ford Consul or even Granada anymore, but my car was 7 years old when I bought it. You even get better access to parts for Skoda or Fiat....
I know it's impossible or unlikely to change anything but still seams very unfair :-( I do like Jaguar policy - as far as I know you can get anything but sometimes it's at incredible prices. That I can understand (my brothers mate wanted to but prop-shaft for E-type and it was something like 10 000 GBP )
Sad thing those RSes - not very long untill there will be no spare parts and no cars in running order and then Scoobie fans will laugh.

Some of us are passionate about the older RS brands .. We help when we can .. Sometimes we get calls about Cortina Mk 1 parts!
Ultimately, we are held back by Ford Europe's budget .. and that goes back to the Yanks. Did they ever understand our European motoring heritage?
I get some parts reinstated for service ... I just cant do shit-loads of them : )
