i have been chasing the same problem with the same alarm system mate,
today i spoke to the guy who fitted my alarm, he said it is an older system and could prevent both the spark and fuel and quite common and is usually the immobiliser,
if you are getting ignition lights, first thing to try with the ignition on is find the spring switch (sorry can't remember the exact name) press it twice on the spring side and then click to latch, this should bypass the system if its still on the factory setting, then you can reset it to what you want, instructions on how to do this is in the manual for the alarm if you don't have the manual you can download it from the clifford website.
if that doesn't work he said if you can locate the main alarm box within about a foot of this there is a stainless box with black wires coming from it which is the immobiliser control unit, remove the 4 screws on the box to take the casing off and there should be three relays, with the ignition off spray them with switch cleaner then operate the system checking that the relays are clicking
hope this helps and i'll be doing mines this weekend and i'll let you know how i get on
