Default escos ABS trouble?

I have been having some dramas with the ABS on my escos, this has been going on since i got it nearly 3 years ago. In the end i just disconected the wiring multiconnector to the modulator valve block and drove it without ABS. The problem was that sometimes the the ABS would work OK but at anytime when i applied the brakes it would just lock up the brakes causing the car to swerve to the left (i think) its been that long. During a strip down of the front suspension today i noticed that after i undid the 10mm bolt holding the ABS sensor on the front hub that when i turned the driveshaft by hand the toothed cog you can see through the hole was not turning, then it woud turn, so i put a small screwdriver in the hole and i could hold the toothed cog while i turned the drive shaft, i think i have found problem.
Have any of you had the same problem and how did you fix it if you did?
Can you still buy these toothed cogs? if so where from and how much are they.

if its what i think your saying, then that is part of the cv joint and is fixed, so it should turn when you turn the driveshaft

See if you can weld the ring back on to the CV joint. The ring as mentioned should be fixed to the CV joint. CV joints inc the pic up ring can be had for £50.00
