maybe there are not much left and price depends ever on availability and demand? not sure to be honest, only my thoughts...

but much more essential (for me) is to know: what is the real benefit of them ( 2.0 YB, around 500BHP for example)? ok, they look nice

A pattern was taken from an original manifold so other than the colour the finish on the manifolds is the same, the gold colour is a chromate finish.
The reason for the reletive high cost, is because of the high production and machining cost.

i dont think there is going to be a distinctive gain over something like a rs500 inlet when going for 500 bhp you can run eec4 inlet plenum too i guess and these are gonna be better for throttle response rather than sorthing so big !

there are aluminum copies available for more humane size bags of money. They cost usually around 2500e and are better in the way that you dont need to sandblast and repaint them between every race. A friend of mine has one of these and had it flowed, it flowed 316-318bhp/cylinder(over 1200bhp total) so they are VERY good on distribution and maxflow. They are not that good on low rpm/response although, there are special rallycross div1 models with 4separate roller throttles in the runners. These are said to give an additional 60bhp on middlerange on a div1 spec RC engine. TG racing in Sweden can deliver all these as far as I know.

The inlet looks good until you get to the plenum, If you got it made with the mis trumpets I may be interested in one

Mark,
This was a pre-production one as far as I am aware. But regarding your idea about doing this to an MIS one, that is what Martin did to his, but it is HUGELY expensive.

I am looking for a proven one on my next 800hp engine as you know 800hp a'nt cheap and the budget does allow it, at the moment I will be using the same as Rods engine.

Thumbs up

Mike, Looks ok, but I personally dont like the plenum chamber, I dont believe in the theory of distributing air in that direction. If it had like the MIS plenum and airinduction i would say good job!

pictures of the special DIV1 inlet

The MIS inlet will do 800+BHP as proven on the Probe dragster and several other engines in Norway, also the JEM's engine.

Please could you answer my following questions?

Are these still being made?
Who makes them?
Where do I buy one from?
Anyone trying to get shot of one?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Cheers Mark, I was actually having a little dig at Mike after the JG engine thread after he made this comment :

It has a trick inlet (about £3k) and the ECU is also well into four figures, so it has some juicy bits on .
I noticed the RallyX Fiesta at Autosport was running one with some sort of Tibuc controller in the passenger footwell, the driver said it was something to do with boost control though, but then he didn't even know what ecu it ran

We do a very similar set up to the above for 3k iirc which we just done on a customers engine for a mk1 escort, very good! I see where the extra expense is in making these just for the yb but that's a lot of difference
