Help - Big end shell bearings
Hi.
I'm posting this question on behalf of a friend.
There is a possibility for him to buy a 1993 cossie but there is an "IF", apparently the all car and engine are ok apart from the big end shell bearings.
The question is:
Is this an usual failure?
Could this had caused any other major problems?
All this questions are coz cossies are getting rarer in Portugal and the few remaining ones are being sold for huge amounts of money for their conditions.
This one appears to be ok, apart from the small problem, and this is the opportunity for my mate to make his dream come true )
Thanks for your help and understanding.

I wouldn't say its a usual failure unless the car has done lots of miles or been neglected. I'm sure I read somewhere that the YB engine should be good for 100K+ in standard form.
