p8 ecu
evening guys.
does a standard p8 ecu have a pectal board or is that a mod?? (escos 1992)
i ask this due to mine is running a pectal board with map for greys etc. i've just rebuilt the engine and have a p8 stage one chip that i was going to run the engine in with.
problem is when i fit the stg 1 chip to the pectal board, i loose inj pulse and spark.
then put the other chip in 'for greys' and all pulses are back.
do i need to take the pectal board out and run the stg 1 chip direct
cheers
Dave

std p8 has no board and is just a chip, usually phase 0/1 chips wont have a board either and will plug straight in the main board.
plugging your stg1 chip into a pectel board will more thaqn likely loose spark and injector pulse as the board is a decrpytion board to decrypt the software in the chip.

and also - a stage one chip may be setup to run on standard injectors or maybe even greens etc, so wont be correct for fueling for greys.
id just stick with the chip/map thats specific for that engine and run it in as normal.
