I am in a similar situation, I wont use mine at all this year and although I have spent a fortune on parts this year, I haven't fitted any.
I am not going to sell it though, it's fully paid for so if it sits in the garage until I get my love back, then so be it.
Keep it or you will regret it.

Is there anyone who hasn't had this "Should I sell it"- feeling?
I have it all the time, even sold a few cars because I couldn't be bothered anymore but I always end up with another one.

only thing at the back of my mind is i fancy a gt3 rs lol and have done for a year or two and if i sold the escort and focus i would be on the way, had the escort nearly 9 years now and just about had enouth and fancy a change but the only problem is that its a gt3 rs that i want and they cost a few quid and the only reason i started my rebuild and plans for 500 bhp was to try and get my interest back for the escort as i dont really want to send gt3 money but i allso dont want to spend anouther 5k on the escort and loads of time just to find out that i still dont have any interest for it, i dont know what to do for best at the moment as my mind changes all the time apart from when i see a gt3 rs i want one. i still like the focus rs and escort as i think they are both great cars but both are getting old now just like me lol

 

since ive had it it has only seen water twice quick detailer and wax is all it gets unless i get caught in the rain
mines not concours but i dont want to have to keep cleaning it top to bottom.i put a set of yoko ao48's on it so i dont use it in the wet

that gt3 is the very very nice new one and prices for these start at about the 100k the one i was looking at are the ones that are white and come with red or blue wheels and trim and cost about 60k to 70 k, would love the new one but 100k for a car is well over my price range and even 60k is pushing the boat far far out for a car that would probley be slower than my escort on the roads when/if i finish it but i still just love the noise and the looks and what makes it worse is that i see one most days and my jaw still drops

 

Sell me the monte cheap then and get one bought

Dont know if its been said already, but you need to get away from the concourse side and start enjoying the car...

and maybe buying an old shitter to drive around, so when you do get in the escort cossie you appreciate it so much more.

dont know about driving an old shitter about mate as them days have long gone i hope, use the focus rs most the time and thats one of the problems as that is so nice to drive and also quite quick and i dont care about it to much

 

I see your problem having the focus, as thats fairly an every day motor compared to the escort...

I have a 1.8 mk3.5 diesel to chug around in when the weather is pants, so when i do drive the escort it puts that big grin on my face as if it was a new car again, so i was thinking try that. lol

Dunc, im currently restoring a series2 rs turbo and what started off as just a reshell into a freshly painted shell has turned into the most anal of rebuilds ever with me worrying about absolutely perfectly working good parts just because they arent minty mint. I keep telling myself its got to stop somewhere, i could have bought myself a beautiful saph with how much it owes me. What the hell am i doing.

But then soemone gave me a good bit of advice the other day. Whenever it stats getting to me, just shut the garage door and leave it for a few days and don't go out there until u get bursts of enthusiasm. Its worked for me, granted the car has been off the road for almost 2 years now mind u, so maybe i should stop waiting for the bursts lol.
