Default Well its gone!!!!

Spent all week uming and arring about selling my car and then judgement day came on Friday. I felt sick at work, still unsure if i should let it go.
The guy came down in the afternoon with the cash and i even told him i was having second thoughts but i knew it was for the best. Took him to my bank to pay the cash in and the walk back to my car made me think again.........it looked awesome, i was gutted. Got home, gave him all of the history and off he drove.
Watching it drive off, i realised why i love these cars, they look amazing and it looked so nice. How gutted was i
Spent the afternoon in a daze, i had given up what is one of THE, if not THE nicest, mintest examples of an imperial blue escos.
But i still know it is for the best, as it would only sit in my garage for the rest of its life and i would always be thinking of selling it

i sold my escos about a month ago now and i dont miss it one bit. lot less stressfull going on a drive not having to worry if i will make it back home under its own steam. they are fabulous cars there are no doubts about it but its always in the back of your mind what if this and what if that. the slightest problem and the car could be off the road for months if the parts arent available. the fact is there are a lot more newer cars capable of the same performance without the hassles that go with it. as said before you can get 50k super cars for escos money. i would another escos tomorrow but dont fancy the stress that goes with it. ps i know newer cars can go wrong aswell.

Newer cars depreciate quicker than they go. You will never loose much on a mint Escort

im not disputing the facts about depreciation as i had mine nearly 3 years and sold it for what i paid for it, but money paid on maintaining it were more than Ł4000 plus higher insurance premiums and the petrol costs alone were unbeleivable. so really although the value of the car stayed the same its 6 of one and half a dozen of another. any one who says owning a escos or any cossie is a cheap experience then they are wrong. just imagine if i had a rebuild done it would have meant i had Ł22k ++++ in the car. the only way to not lose money on a cossie is not to use it SIMPLE.

My thoughts exactly. If you drove the car and picked up a few chips, a few hundred quid for a blow over is all it needs. Youll lose a few hundred quid every MONTH driving a new-ish evo.

Still, as long as your happy mate.

I want to get rid of mine when it comes out of the paintshop as its a daily run around... I fancy getting a really nice clean one so it can just be a toy and stay snuggled up in my garage.

I think Ill always have an Escos in the garage... I still cant think of another car I would prefer obviously in my price range.

I felt pretty sick the day mine was driven away by the new owner and I had NO choice but to sell it as I was emigrating so I can imagine how gutted you would be if you had a choice.
It's only a car after all but it's strange the emotion they instill in us.

Exactly mate, people who spend thier lives worrying that the underneath of thier car might get dirty don't deserve an Escos Drive it like you stole it, then twice as hard again .....The whole point of owning one is that they are FUN, and pay back the running costs wih a smile across your chops that very very few other cars can give, even stuff like Evo's etc may be there in the performance stakes, but just lack that "X" factor that a good cossie has ( and I'm not talking about a load of fat talentless wasters on ITV )
