Default Possible Front diff problems???

Not sure whether I have a problem with my front diff or not. At very slow speeds, and turning the wheel e.g parking , I get a small knocking noise, worse when cold. I know the car had a new steering rack before I had it and if you turn the wheel when stationary there is no noise, so i think this is fine. Also at speeds on crap roads it does seem to follow the bumps more than i would have thought was normal (it is lowered with poly bushes up front and std rims). When at speed or cornering hard, it all feels fine. Are the above just 'features' of the car or does it sound like somethings not quite right. Whats the best way to check it out.

ta

I've got the same problem with mine, a friend at Ford said it would probably be the TCA, especially if they have never been replaced.I've just had the NS done and you can get the arm with out the bushes.Hope it helps.

Guys, I'm going to scc to pick up a headlight tomorrow. Rich says I can stick it on the ramp and check it out. Hopefully TCA's. Maybe time for some adjustables from Zoo. Will let you know

Got it on the ramps at scc last night. No obvious problems. Nothing loose or worn. They suspect it could be the suspension top mounts, or the new rack that was fitted a few months ago maybe shagged????

I'll change the top mounts first I think.

I might get round to doing my tca's - got them sat in the car!! Mine only does it when turning left, it was doing it before I changed both front wheel bearings - still doing it now. still pissed off about the ford tca's though £48 for the left, £112 for the right!!!!!!!

Can you buy the dust covers only for the TCA's? One of mine has split but it is still good
