Mat, when i did this on my old one i removed the two bolts on the front bumper which are under the number plate In other words where the number plate sits, that part of the bumper run your hand underneath it and you will find two holes, now put a long hex bolt i think and undo. Next turn the wheels full lock one way and put your hand up behind the bumper but keep it low and you will find a big plastic bolt/screw thing, turn this and it comes out. Repeat this on the other side, and then just pull the bumper forward And then obviously disconnect the lights and water hoses and off it comes

these are height adjusters, theyre not meant to be removed as they have a weld on the end and you can easily knacker up the brackets

CHEERS boys I undid the bolts as per Nicks note above-was a bit of a pain loosening off the left hand front bolt but said bumper is now off and residing on my kitchen floor
In fact I didn't stop there, I removed the air box to clean underneath it and give the airbox a 'Franco' and whilst I was about it whipped off the turbo heatshield, wheel arch liner and lights to give it a proper clean as I am going to give novice concours a go next year
I must be mad
pics to follow when the camera charges

to explain it a bit better, the bolts you have removed are for height adjustment of the bumper , they have a weld on the ends of them to stop them being removed, if you try to remove them, then if you are lucky [as in your case] the weld will snap off and allow the bolts to come out,if you are unlucky the weld will not come off and the bolts will strip their threads and the threads of the brackets, and of course you cant buy replacement brackets thats why its best to remove the proper mounting bolts from behind/under the front cross member you will be able to see these bolts holding the brackets to the car now youve removed the bumper

I remember you saying this when i asked about removing my bumper back then
Thing is they came out really easily and there wasnt a sign of any weld anywhere
Not saying your wrong as you are most probably correct, but just giving my experience from in the past

Best way to remove bumper is

Undo the side clips in front wheel arch ( just twist them )
Remove fog lights / indicators and disconect the wires
Jack car up and under the front off the car on the front cross member you will see 2 bolts each side, the ones nearest the engine you need to remove but the front 2 just undo as they will slide out, the bolts next to the washer bottle are abit fidly, once you have done this you can slide the bumper off and then disconect the light washer pipe.
All done hope this helps

This is exactly what I did as per Radmans advice above and yes those bolts next to the washer bottle are a pain

If your bumper is still off, can you please take a closer picture of the area circled in red, as I believe I have something missing here. Thanks John
