just wondering if anyone has encountered there escort cosworth fan staying on till the battery is dead.?

and could anyone please tell me how to fix it.

its driving me mad.

Hi, see my post further down this page ESC Cos Fan Switch that was the problem with mine, all sorted now

 

Most likely water that is shorting the contacts on the switch. Had this on my Sapphire many years ago. Sprayed it with some kind of contact/moistremover and its been fine for over then years now.

 

fan sensor switch on the bottom passenger side of rad. replace that.

 

Yep happened to me 2 month ago... alarm going on at 3 am!
The switch was looking just fine.. except it was on short-circuit
I've replaced it and now it's perfect. (cost about a fiver from Ford)

I've also used the pretext to add an overdrive switch on the relay to start them on (@ full speed) for the inside for track days or traffic jams..

It was the fan switch that was causing the problem so i bought one from ford fitted it and now its fine.

thank you for all your support on this matter, its nice to speak to people in a friendly community that wants to help.
