Default escort Mk2 cosworth -atmo oil pressure!

Hello to all,one friend of mine have escort cosworth atmo, with titan oil pump, the oil tank in the
bootlid with long hose pipes etc..,but we have seen the oil pressure with hot engine about one bar pressure, when it's cold have about 8-9bar pressure, the question is why when it's hot have too small oil pressure? the oil type is mobil one 15w/50,have tested with 10w/60 but the result was the same,so does anyone know about that? thanks in advance

Regards

Hi Thanasis, I've talked with him also and he told that when the engine is cold oil pressure is at 8-9bar at idle, when it gets hotter pressure drops at 3,5bar and when engine is at normal operating temperature drops at 1bar at idle (1000rpm). When he accelerates oil pressure rises again and at idle drops back again at 1bar.
He has installed a complete Titan dry sump kit, with oil tank(boot), external oil pump ect...
He has tried many oil types and results are the same!
The engine has been rebuilt recently, works fine and as smooth as possible (because of camshaft overlap)

Only a guess but more effort (= oil pressure) doesn't mean more flow-rate. And less oil pressure doesn't mean less flow-rate. The thinner the oil with rising temp the lower oil pressure is needed for spreading it.
