Default loosing boost!!

recently put a new actuator on my 2wd saff coz the old one was shagged but its not holding boost very well. The car was set up to hold22/23psi but at the moment its peaking at 24 and holding about 17,so its way down on boost. Why is it not holding boost......to get it to hold22 psi i have to set it to peak at about 28psi which is too high.So ive backed it off til i get it sorted.Could the amal valve be knackered or something else.Ive checked all hoses and there are no leaks at all.

Have you checked that your pipes are on the right way round on the amal valve?? The valve has letters on each pipe to help

It could be SO many things mate.

I had this problem, it turned out to be a leak to my boost gauge.

I will pull up an email reply I got from Karl Norris when I had this problem

Karl's reply:

Hi Charlie,

It will almost certainly be an air leak under boost.

Things to check:

Dump valve (if fitted) check diaphragm isn't split and that it seals
correctly.

All boost hoses are in perfect order with no splits or tears and that the
jubilees are tight

Inlet manifold gasket to head

Plenum cover gasket to head

Throttle body to inlet manifold gasket

Injector o rings to inlet manifold

Any of the small bore pipes coming off the plenum cover or even a leak going
to your boost gauge!!

I'll put money on it that its one of the above!!!

Let me know,

Cheers,

Karl
