...in the superman movies, did superman's dad (mr kent, not the alien one) die?

i know in the TV shows he was alive and a main character, just not sure about the movies.

 

Yes he did. Jonathan Kent died from a heart attack in the corn field.

The first film wasn't it? Him and Clark were talking somewhere, and they were walking back to the house and Clark said he'd race him - naturally Clark get there first, and Jonathan and the dog were walking back when he clutched his heart and keeled over, right?

Something like that....

 

The tv series is only loosly based on the films tho.....

As were into series 5 now of SmallVille, were starting to see some familular story lines that were seen in the movies.

Their also re-making the SuperMan films from IIRC No 3 onwards or it could be No 2 onwards as the last 1 or 2 films were wank.

Oh and no Tom Welling wont be playing Clark Kent in the films.

And yes i do love SmallVille lol and yes i am sad

 

I like Smallville too tho - out of all the "teen" drama type programmes, it;s deffo the best! I cna't get on with "The O.C." and that shit.... Buffy was good tho, went a bit wank towards the end tho.... Plus Lana is hot hot hot!

I heard about the new Superman movies, but from what I saw on TV about em, it's a remake as such, more a new story based on an older story... They wanna embelish it some more and go abit more indepth and a bit darker with it - which is cool! When Tim Burton took on Batman he made that really dark and did an excellent job!

We've seen those two episodes on E4 so far. Second meteor shower and some bad dudes came down (dressed like General Zod ) and then Clark goes to the ice palace place, loses his powers, then gets shot and dies, but Durell(sp) magics him back to the Ice Palace and gives him back his life and powers, but says someone that Clark truly loves will have to die to give his life - but they haven't shown/told who that will be yet....

SO DON'T SAY!!!!!

No, but you never know do you? It's not like Smallville has followed the original movies (or the Lois and Clark TV series) that closely.... I mean Smallville has Lois Lane in it? Watch the fricken movie - they don't mean till AFTER Clark has grown up and gone to the city and got a job at the paper - wtf is Lois doing in Smallville?

And in the movies, Lex was the criminal mastermind - but it didn't hint anywhere that Clark grew up in the same town and was friends with the bugger did it?

The only thing the series has with the movies is character names and town locations... And the fact he has superpowers - FS, he ain't even SUPERMAN yet
