What do you guy reckon is a safe boost limit on my car.
Sierra 2.0 DOHC 8V Turbo Technics
Running 10.5:1 Compression
Lightened bottom end and 285 cams
Cast Pistons
Rebuilt less than 8000 miles ago by Ratty of the boards and he replaced everything with vey big reciepts
Turbo technics say a very reserve 6psi
However iv ran 9psi in the past on a boggo engine.(which went bang at 160,000
Its running 8 at the mo so would you leave at 8-9psi which will give about 200 bhp or can we risk it.
Could it be increased with a bigger intercooler or water injection e.t.c
Your thoughts please

i know people thatve run 9 happily
couldnt hurt to get some WI in there for safe measure, its a pretty cheap mod and helps with a lot more than just ACTs
also the DCU, iirc the DOHCTTs dont have ignition retard on them (5th injector only i think) so deffo woud be a million times safer (and faster+more responsive) with an ignition controller such as an EMS5/6 (i happen to know someone selling one for VERY reasonable money brand new never used if you wanna PM me)
as for safe boost after that... who knows, jhust get it set up by a GOOD tuner (ie not just any old bloke out of the yellow pages) and let them set it to what they beleive is safe...
i beleive turbosystems are good with these motors, also MSD worth trying, they know a LOT more about TurboTechnics cars than you'd expect!!!

also re: fueling i beleive the overboost kicks in at 10psi on those, so 9psi is your limit... (dunno if that means its safe upto 9psi tho)
also please note, DO NOT HIT THE REV LIMITER (if it even has one) as on the DOHC this is a FUEL cut and with your extra injector still firing this will get very messy very quickly!
