He's been offered a 15k car but he has no idea what to get. He'd like some performance but if possible 4wd and he is happy to take the TDI route as well.
Any suggestions? I've suggested a few things to him but he's still not sure.
Cheers guys

Lex are the biggest leasing company in the country and now wholly-owned by HBOS. They will be able to source any car available on the UK market, but almost certainly will refuse to even look at imports.
If it is a leased car it will be an unusual fleet policy that allocates according to list price. Leasing companies virtually never pay list price and it takes no account of comparative depreciation or maintenance costs on different cars.
Most companies will either have a set list of cars to choose from, or a range of lease rentals. Then his fleet manager will be able to get Lex to provide a list of cars available in the budget.

Not worth going into a van or double-cab now unless you have a way to get out in a little over a year - and that is expensive whether you buy or lease the vehicle thanks to first-year depreciation.
The BIK rules are changing for people in commercial vehicles. From April next year, if you have any private use you pay tax on a benefit of £3000 per annum. For most, you are then better off in a CO2 efficient car.
