Default Why's it so quiet in here?

Jeeeeeees you'd think we'd all sold our RSi's and bought Clios! lol

C'mon guys I need your help to make a decision. Some of you have seen the small rust patch that has bubbled up on the n/s/f wing under my ariel (and also nice stone chip on same wing, thanks MK Council!). Also the paint on my o/s/f wing has gone flat, not sure why, probably a poor job.

Which option:

1) Have the two wings repaired/replaced and resprayed, and I think one of my rear arches is showing early signs of needing help so do that too.

or

2) Shall I just say fcuk it and go for a full outer shell respray, thus sorting any rust issues.

Baring in mind it was very difficult matching the paint the first time I had some work done on her, what do you reckon? Dont just say full respray for the sake of it, if it were your own car what would you do?

If you can afford it then why not got the whole outside painted??

Like you said about matching the paint by doing just those panels your probably end up chasing the paint around the car to get it to blend in anyway!!

I suppose the money will make the decision for you anyway

Personally, when it happens to mine I'm gonna strip the paint off all of it, see what panels need replacing ( if any ) then a full respray.

Mine has also bee stonechipped underneath and along bottom of doors and then undersealed. I feel more confident driving her everyday like this.

Did you sort your insurance prob Claire?

Matt - No, insurance didnt get sorted so had to cancel the car.

Paul - With regard to the respray, if it means taking her off the road for a couple of weeks, I could always borrow my bro's Escort Bonus 90 for a bit cos he still hasn't made any attempt to pass his test, i'll just have to weara a balaclava so no one recognises me! lol

I am swayed more towards doing the whole thing, think i'll have a chat with my mate to see what the difference in cost will be to do it.

I'd do it all, saves buggering around doing bits here and there and being without it for ages.

Sorry to hear about your insurance probs but you didn't want a smart roadster anyway. Spend it all on the RS! LOL

Roadsters are wicked little cars, it was only on a 9 month lease so was keeping the RSi.
I had plans to do bits to the RSi while I could drive the Roadster every day, so now ive had to change my plans.

I would do the whole thing and relace any rusty pannals wings are still available at fords so no problem Ive just had the N/S/R arch done on mine, while they were cutting off the outer the inner part was a bit toasty so had that replaced as well a bit more expensive but worth doing to keep the rust worm OUT!!!
