mmm, im not too hot on that mark of Escort, but i've seen the arches go on some so check those. i doubt it will be rusting underneath yet so you'll be ok there, but check anyway.

its mainly the panel gaps that u need to check for. also make sure u HPI it.

And after u have taken it for a drive, leave the engine running and watch the temp gauge, dont want to buy it to find the head gasket has gone.

im not sure what to look for on the engines though sorry

That sounds spot on for the price mate

As for what to look out for, not much really just the usual stuff you'd look at when buying any car and check it idle's ok as the throttle position sensors are a weak point on these, not a hard fix but im sure you dont want to buy it then have to put this right.
Also check rear arches but you say its mint so it should be ok.

If all is ok then buy it

Possible replacement for the Mondeo Doug?

How come the Si and the GTi are the same car but the insurance is twice as much for the GTi?

They're same power aren't they?

Not THAT much more and i think its worth the little bit extra to get the RS kit, 5 spoke alloys and the half leather.
