are you talking about the breather that returns the oil to the sump?

also by having a breather system that vents to atmosphere could this lead to moisture in the sump?

mine does it. Oil doesn't get v hot in this weather. Dipstick seal might be a bit crap, or it's the breather to atmo causing probs.

I'd agree with Rick, I just turn a blind eye to it in this weather, just use it more oftne and do a decent journey in it too

cracked breather im guessing they mean the plastic one that runs to the metering head.

recently ive been getting a bit of mayo on the oil filler cap. only started happening in the cold weather and im wondering if its because i have my beather venting to atmosphere without any filter on it.

im not loosing water or oil and when i did an oil change the other week there was no mayo evidence at all.

i used to get white gunk underneath the oil cap in the winter - too cold and too many short runs. didnt get hot enough - i only work 2=3 miles away from home fine in the warmer weather though

i dont know of ANY other car that does this , typical rs turbo, im fed up with it, they are nothing but money pits , im gonna sell mine as soon as its fixed up and get something reliable and fast thats built well and doesent require too much attention .im dissapointed .lol

they should come with a warning '' if you dont drive your rs turbo too many miles in the winter, watch out for mayo in the oil ''

I have a Bailey Oil breather/seperator on my RST, and its vented directly out, without a filter. Could this couse white "milk" on the dipstick?

Better get a filter on it asap then

Guess its no good with that crap in the oil...

And yes, it could also be headgasket, if anyone have this problem

Was wondering, would it be better to use an empty coke 500ml bottle and shove the atmosphere pipe into it?
mines vented to atmosphere and sure this could cause condensation fordefinate
