as these are the seame head do they have different profile cams as one is a turbo?

The heads are the same but I'm unsure on the camshaft

I don't think ford will thell you... All that I know is that ERST used the camshafts of XR2/XR3/XR3i MFI

If Ford used the same pistons on ERST and FRST head height should be a little bit lower than on standard XR2i's

according to microcat 2i and turbo cam is the same finis code 6179242 hope this helps mate

The XR2i and FRST cams are EXACTLY the same, as are the Escort XR3i and RS Turbo cams, its common to use the FRST cam in an ERST aswell because the later cams produce more power than the earlier version.

Fitting a brand new cam usually see's power gains aswell, because a CVH cam wears stedaily from the moment it is fitted (poor top ends)
