Escos Rear Brakes, Help Needed!!

Currently Changing rear pads on my 93 Escos and have now reached a slight problem, I cant compress the rear caliper, so when i put it all back together the pads do not slip over the disk
Could someone please help as I am gonna start hitting it whith a large hammer soon.

I read the Haynes manual and as per usual it said "SIMPLY COMPRESS CALIPER" it forgot to say that this would be fine if you were the jolly green giant

thats funny - the cossie isnt in the haynes manual...... 
the sykes pikevant tool is about 10 quid from most halford/partco places as they have to tuen and be pushed at the right rate to reseat them.

Sorry Dave, the Haynes manual comment was a bit of a private joke between me and Kev.H, Thanks for your help though matey, managed to get the tool from partco Yesterday, all is now Fine.
Yeah when i did mine i had to turn the piston clockwise, as if you have ever taken a piston out of one of these calipers, the pistons winds in on a threaded worm, which is part of the handbrake mechanism incorprated in the caliper.
