Default Drilling holes in my garage

I'm looking to panel the inside of my garage but i cant get any drill to touch the walls think they must be reinforced with steel.Tried drilling thourgh the concrete then after about 3mm it stops,tried masonary drills,hss drills etc.Any ideas ???

get a better drill mate,,,,,,,,, just means yours aint up to the job,,,,,, drill it too much and you may burn out the clutch too

i sugest you hire one and burn that one out instead

if uve got a few to drill mate go to hss and hire an sds drill, they should be able to sort you out with drill bits as well, if your fitting battens to the wall you could use a plaslode gas nailer (alot more fun), hilti do one that uses small charge caps but i think you need a license to hire one (not sure bout that)

get hold of a SDS power drill mate they will do the job. What srt of paneling are you putting up ?

I was thinking of using 18mm marine ply so i can put up some shelves and cabinets etc.Was just going to panel around the area where my bench and toolbox is.
Its a compton garage thats made out of those bolt together panels,strong as fook

SDS will do it. I paid Ł30 for mine from Screwfix and have caned the crap out of it!! Even if it died tomorrow, I would have easily had my money's worth out of it!!

hi pal they are re-enforced with steel wires, you just have to drill round them, DO NOT USE A HIGH IMPACT DRILL, if you use a rotary hammer or a impact type like a hilti you will have a load of broken concrete panels mate, ive drilled mine , its not easy trust me , but they are usually only reenforced in the thick part of the panel and the wires are vertical, you can drill round them
