Default WEIRD TECHY GEARBOX HELP NEEDED... HEEEELP!!!

Bit of a weird one this, any help from anyone would be appreciated...

I've got a 1.8 cvh block

I've got an MT75 gearbox (which some of the 1.8 cvh sierras used)

What clutch and flywheel do I go for?!!!!

Ideally I'd like a standard (or at most mildly uprated organic) Cossie clutch for a lightish pedal.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Ben

Unfortunately a standard 1.8 sierra clutch probably won't take the power / torque dude!
Cheers,
Ben
Anyone else with any other ideas?

A mt75 uses the same spline as the 4x4 cossie so use a escort cossie clutch

It's ok I know I can use a Cossie clutch now - looks like I have to get a flywheel custom made unless anyone knows different?
Cheers,
Ben

Have you tried offering a cozy flywheel up to the crank?

I know the cozy has more holes but it might line up on most if not all holes.

Go for a cozy 6 paddle mate, very smooth and light.

Matt.

no offence, but does it really need a paddle? after all its only a CVH turbo at the end of the day so surely it'll be <300bhp (please corrct me if wrong) and i woulda thought a normal type clutch would be more than adequate for this, and nicer to drive

Cheers Matt, I'll give it a go but I'm not too hopeful! Jim you're right, that's why I wanna go for a standardish Cossie clutch rather than a CVH paddle as it'll be easier to drive.
Cheers all,
Ben

Are you going to need a crank position sensor?

That may determine if you use a cozy or CVH flywheel.

Farndon once quoted me over 1K for a one off flywheel.

Have you tried writing a letter to FastFord? its a very good technical magazine just about Fords. They are bound to know the answer!

Martin will know or be able to engineer you something. Send him a PM. Good luck matey and see you at ND

Actually, Jon Hill wrote the article.
He does ask the right questions though
