I have a chip on my windscreen that I have been told can't be fixed. So I got a 2nd hand windscreen off ebay they other day. It is a bronze tint with the arched sunstrip along the top, so I assumed its a genuine ford screen.

What I need to know is were there any after market bronze tint windscreens a while back? I ask this as the engraving in the corner of the screen is not the same as my genuine ford one that says W in the corner
This one says ELVEX in the corner. Which is the correct one?
Which one do you guys have?
I can take a picture if needed.

im pretty sure mine says pilkington on mine... i know for definate that both drivers and pasenger windows are buy pilkington, both bronze tint.

previous owner got it from autoglass cost him a few quid though, got a couple of genuine screens but brand new is better then second hand

 

The Original Glass, on the passenger door, drivers door, quarter windows, and rear screen should be Sekurit. The Front Screen should be stamped with the ford logo and details down the bottom in the middle of the screen.

 

mike just out of interest have u still got the 2 little bits of nylon poking out of the windscreen rubber just below that stamp tour on about? my old one did. they were about 20mm long appartently it came like that from teh factory but most were cut off however they stayed on my old car

 

Oh i dunno, if i go out the garage later i shall have a look, lift the rubber if i have to a bit to see lol, on outiside or inside?

 

inside mike, i think they were offset an inch or two from the center to the drivers side... they look like bits of fishing line
