Fiesta ST clutch problem
Recently after giving my car a hard drive I am getting a lot of clutch smell when I get out of the car.
its done 10,000 now, anyone else experiencing this?
spoke to my mate at mountune and he recons it could be that the clutch isn't quite up to it.
not noticing it slipping though, just the smell.
any ideas?
thanks
tim

Slightly happier now that i know that im not the only one, but makes me wonder how long the clutch will last for.
Just got home and had an enjoyable drive home
but nothing silly and when i got out of the car, there was the smell. Definatly clutch not cat and im not 70 so no riding the clutch
Might have a word with ford and see what they think, i know a clutch isnt covered by warranty but i shouldnt be having clutch issues after only 10k miles.

Hi,
Need help - is this to do with slave cylinder?
And is the slave cylinder in the gear box or on top?
I have recently had problems with my clutch, this came out of the blue and happened in less than an hour of driving. I think it is my slave cylinder and just wondered if anyone had any similar symptoms:
Clutch was slow to come up.
Then it felt hard and got stuck half way down.
It also became hard so I couldn't even push it down a mm.
Lastly after waiting for 5 minutes, the clutch went down fine, however once down I put car in gear, however the revs shot up when I pressed on accelerator and my car carried on rolling back, - zero power to wheels. It took around 5 seconds for the clutch to actually engage the engine.
I managed to get car home, by taking it very slow on the way up when using the clutch. Power does go to wheels but takes while to engage.
Please respond urgently.
Cheers
Marc

had my Fiesta ST 11months and done 6000 the clutch went so took it to local ford dealer whose said due to ware and tare not covered unde4 warranty. Cost for clutch fly wheel and slave cylinder £1048.00 got to see the clutch and fly wheel but they were unable to show me the slave cylinder. They said they fit a a new one as course but nothing wrong with the one they took out. Dealers get a lot less for warranty work. Not convinced as seem a lot of people have a problem with clutch on Fiesta and focus.. not happy with ford
