Default flushing heater matrix

im gonna try flushing my heater matrix out to see if it fixes it before i get a new one.

when i remove the water hoses going into it how much water am i gonna loose?

also am i right in thinking that the water goes in the top hose and out the bottom one?

The best way to flush your heater matrix is by disconnecting the 2 pipes at the back of the engine bay then just push the hose into one of the pipes and watch the orange goo come out of it. Worked a treat with mine hand has been brill ever since. Your best off replacing all of your coolent once done to make sure there's no crap still floating around.

Cheers

i used a spare breather hose to make a drain for the matrix! i stuck the hose over the top pipe and the spare hose pointing down to the floor and left it running for a couple of minutes. then i did it from the other way too just to make sure.

didn't realise the heater was so good! nice and toasty now!

So is it the 2 pipes located just to the right of the back of the engine block. One of the pipes goes into the block and the other goes inside the car somewhere. They are a little thicker than your thumb. The best way I can describe them.

Two pipes that go into the bulkhead (PS - a new topic may have been wise rather than digging up a 8yr old topic)
