Default Anyone noticed that there are no Sierras at the scrappies??

I asked my wife to pick up a parcel shelf for me, and she said she called several places with no avail! Is this truly the case, or is she just telling me to doddle off??!!

If it's hinged than it's a XR4 one, but still a goodun for under 4 quid!!

The Cossie is a one-piece but looks the same

There is a Cortina / Sierra breakers on the A17 Near Boston, Lincs. The phone number is 01205 460737 and you need to phone before you go. Might be worth a try.

In Holland it's the same

Looks like the most sierra's are already in "heaven" .

The most Ford's on the scrapyard here are: Fiesta MK3, Escort MK5 (etc), Mondeo MK1 etc.

Had one guy once tell me that as soon as he gets a Sierra, he gets em crushed!! He says there is no sense keeping a Sierra in his yard, as their too old.

My cousin owns a scrap yard and although he still gets sierra's in they are really thin on the ground. The ones that he does get are usually totally wrecked!

with the average life expectancy of a car being 13 years its no surprise really!

try finding a mk3/4 escort in the scrappies these days, it used to be full of em!

Most do get sent to the crusher these days, suppy and demand really, if non are on the road then its dead money sat in the yard, they won't sell anything off it! A local Scrap dealer in sheffield has 8 Sierra's in, piled on top of eash other in some way or another, with very little rust, all ready for heaven lol

Dont think we need to panic just yet.

There's 71 whole sierras for sale on ebay right now.

I bought a brand new one (from Ford old stock) for $70 US or about 33 quid.

I can't believe it. So this proves old Sierras are being crushed before even given the chance at the scrap yards!

Mo, I have a shelf mate - i bought it from ebay to use for my speaker install but instead opted for a proper speaker shelf so this is surplus to requirements.

Its not an original cossie shelf tho but is a genuine ford sierra shelf - the color is a biscuit tan instead of grey. You could probably die it grey to get the same affect.

In very good condition.

Pm me if you want it.
