Default Brand new series 1 - NOW WITH PICS!!!! - at last....

In 1985 my dad bought a brand new series 1.... we've just been clearing out some drawers in the lounge and found the original bill of sale for the the car along with copies of numerous letters that he sent to ford after he'd bought the car complaining about the reliability of it.... made me chuckle cos all of the problems he was having then with a brand new car are all the problems that people seem to have now!!

when i get chance i'll scan it all in and post it up.... might be of some interest to some of you.

will get pics up when i get a chance....

i asked the guy who's doing the data base if he could find out if it's still alive and he found that the last keeper change was 1989 so unless someones had it that long it's probably dead....

but if anyone has ever heard of this plate i'd like to know:

B555 BAR

yeah obviously looks well mint in the photos cos it's brand new...

when i can get to a scanner i'll scan everything in including pictures!

is there any way we can find out when it was last taxed??

maybe someone's had it stored away in a barn with a cover on it for the last 15 years!!

shawn, thanks for all your help with this car....

Looks lovely mate, just as it should being brand new!

How long did your Dad own it for?

Not sure if this would work or if you've already tried it but you could write to the DVLA and ask about it, if anyone's gonna know about it it'll be them

Hope its good news!

rs shawn has been on the dvla web site for me and found that that last keeper change was 1989, could contact them i suppose and ask if they can find out if it's been scrapped.... only other thing is to do a police check... i've got a mate in the cps, might ask if he can have a look for me....

i think dad had the car for 18 months ish, he had it as a second car and was always worried about leaving it anywhere so he sold it....
