Default kent cam or pipercam

Hi guys i brought the red fiesta of here the one with the black alloys and the big ends and mains have gone on it. ive taken the engine out now striped it and found that it doesnt have a high lift cam in it like it was suupose to. any way i'm having the head gas flowed and ported stage 1 and seems waste of time with not having a high lift cam. which make is the best piper t2 cam or the kent cvh35 cam. please help me out guys any advice would be much appreciated.

cant say which is best but i have the piper cam

when first fitted the idle was crap - and i ended up having it set up at power engineering cos i needed other stuff done - now its perfect

(apparantly the piper is meant to give a crap idle but i havnt had this since PE worked on it)

power comes in around 3500rpm and it dont half shift

obviously i can only give my view on the piper tho mate

you payed the full asking price and it turned out to be fooked? or did you get it cheap?

either way good luck with the rebuild

kent is a good cam and so is the 285t2.

Kent CVH34

Used Piper and Kent and prefer the Kent. But that's just my opinion. Tempted to try a Newman cam as they are sposed to be excelent. Heard horror stories about both Kent and Piper cams. Wouldn't personally even use a 285T2 as a paperweight

I prefer the piper cam to a kent. The idleing doesnt bother me as i'm running twin carbs so the idle speed is slightly high.
