STILL NOT RUNNING...AWWW
Hello people and Happy New Year..... well not for me, I am still having problems wiv my saph cossie.
if anyone seen my last post, well I have had an auto elec on it now since before Christmas he has been right through the loom and says that there is no fault...but there is cos it wont start..ha ha.
now he is saying its the abs unit???? but it can not be cos the ecu loom is a totally independent loom,I have checked the phase sensor that's ok, for some reason I am not getting a spark or fuel up to the rail nor getting any voltage on the injectors....head is done in now..
I have not had the ecu tested yet... this all started when I tuck my old dash out to replace with the original one for some reason the guy who had the car before me wanted a later spec dash??? don't know why cos you have to change the instrument loom for the buttons?
so my question is.... should I just change all the ecu loom to save any hassle or does anyone know a decent auto elec who live in the Cheshire area and know cossies well???
cos I can not find anyone who can sort this......I just want it running now...
thanks to anyone who replies to this...

well cheers grunter for your quote, i have tried another ecu on my car, but not checked mine, i know i have said i have not checked mine but have tried another, i have tried the coil amp 2, plus i am getting voltage at my crank?? i just think it seem funny how its just stopt after taking the dash out..
i even tuck my full alarm off too gutted it was a clifford intel start..hay what a pric* i am...is there anyway ov checkin the actual crank sensor. or just buy a new one???
vinny

you can check it mate but im not sure on the values now for wot they cost it might be well worth changing just for peice of mind just strange how its only happened since u took the dash out... i had a similar problem on a 2.8 xr4x4 that was a relay under the dash near the glove box...... certainatly a good on mate got me thinkin
crank angle readings should be between 600 ank 1k ohm between pins 3 and 4 on the plug that goes to the ecu obviously it needs to be disconnected from the ecu also the gap needs to be set rite and make sure the 4 lugs are on the crank pully.......... phase sensor
grrr pressed wrong thing phase sensor needs a gap of 0.2-0.3 mm between it and the lobes resistance is measured between pins 5 and 23 on the ecu plug with a reading between 700-1.2k ohms again plug needs to be disconnected hope this helps some wot mate

how much more am i gonna post here lol according to my wireing diagram there is a relay that controls power to the ecu not sure were it is but the pin numbers for it are 85 87 86 30 pin 20 on ecu plug goes to 87 on relay pin 10 on ecu plug goes to 85 on relay try seeing if ur getting power there lol
all the wiring has been put back to standard, but i will check all this today as that relay may have gone down, i might ov shorted something when i was taking the dash out, but the ignition was not on so>>>
there could be a chance that a relay has gone, but the auto elec has fords workshop manual, and he has said that there is power in all the right places, thats whats making me belive that something has gone down..????? its just what..ha ha..i was concidering on changing all the engine bay loom, do you think i am being to hastey here???
anyway speak soon.

Hello ppl... no still no luck, been on it allday i have checked the ig amp first then the phase sensor...i no its sumin dead simple but finding its a pain, there is a company called camco in warrington who say they will fix it, so i think i will put it all back together and tow it down there,i am sick ov it now, i dont care how much it costs just want it runnin..u watch i wil pay these ppl Ł300 for fixing it i will drive it home and crash it or the cam belt will snap ha ha well thats my luck...
i have looked ate the ignition, i did get told tho that if the indicators where not pluged in then the car wont fire up, but this is only on some ov them, cos its not on mine..hehehe
its defo not the timing, not even touched that side ov it, i really do think that i have shorted sumin out, but what i dont know, i have had all the main things checked????
anyway i think i will kick this auto elec in touch, he is pis***Ł in the wind i think, best give it to the guys who know, this camco i was talking about they can test everything, but they highly priced....anyway thanks alll

have you broken the crank pulley by any chance when you did cambelt?
if you hammered of the pulley rather than use a puller you could have broken of a lug the pulley.
if so you need to change then should start up ok
also are you 100% certain the timing is ok

yeah timing is fine i done the head gasket b4 the winter set in, and done the timing then the car was running fine for two months after that, then the dreaded dash came out, i kick myself for doing this as i could have just changed the loom, and job done, its just typical ov me i just want that i just want everything done right to origanal spec.. aww well
thanks anyway....
thanks anyway....
