im looking to buy a new car £9500 max
i was thinging about a st170 focus or a st150 fiesta ive tried the focus (needs to be reved) but not the fiesta which looks ace but

Any suggestions as project cosworth resto is going to take a lot longer than orignaly planned and i need something faster than the escort estate

 

Saff cossie and save the rest of your money (depends on the milage you plan to do)

 

You could buy an Escos for that money but it would have a fair few miles on and be a long way off mint. Depends if you're willing to get your hands drity.

With £9.5k I wouldn't be buying a Ford

 

Wouldnt say big fan, but yeah the ST170 does hold its own in the 2.0l NA market. But if i was looking for a "quick" Ford and age and milage wasnt a problem i would be driving a Saff Cossie

 

Agree with Andy - as a "sensible trousers" car the ST170 is great, sutble / comfortable but quickish when needed. Can't speak for the ST150 though - that really depends on how bigger car you need. But you could pick up an ST170 with 30k-ish with all the goodies for well under your budget. HTH

 

A few more grand and you could have yourself a Focus RS.

 

whats wrong with a st200? piss all over the st170 and its very comfy on long journeys as well

 

i have driven all three and would say out of the st170, st200 and the fiesta............ the st 150 is by far the best and most fun car

buy that one

or save 4k and get a nice focus RS

 

You could if you wanted to be a bit different get a pretty kick arse mustang for that much...........

 

Maybe when in your 50's its a better car, I know cos my dad liked them

for the money mate go for a family st 200 mondy it would suit you down to the ground and put 6k in the sky

Fiesta ST (please don't call it an ST150 - it really doesn't suit - and members of Fiesta ST Owners Club will club you to death!!! )

However, you'll be a bit hard pushed to get one of these for 9.5K just yet..... more like 10 - 10.5k

As for size... the Fiesta ST has bags of room in it.... I can more or less stand, a little stooped in mine to manoevre mi 15 month old in and out of the back seat!

Its a little car with a lot of heart... and on the track... its absolutely awesome!

 

Altho i really like them im sure there are much worse things ppl could call it!

 

From personal experience i can tell you GET THE FIESTA!!!!

3.0 M3 is actually a good idea, you can have alot of fun in them and not lose anything when you wanna sell it!

Get something different, you've got a Ford to come!

 

im not in my 50's.. and neither are the other STOC owners of the 200..
as i say... pisses over 170's so its quick enough.. even on the twisty roads

 

why not have a try with a renault clio 172 cup, my miss's has one & its rapid!

every1s going to hate me now!!!

Fiesta ST is a good little car goes well and handle well


Not sure I would want to spend £10k on one though. For around 10k I'd be looking at an M3 or Evo.
