Default head gasket question

rst btw

can a head gasket be fooked even if u have good compression on all 4???
my rst is pissing out steam and running on 3 but compression is good on all 4 but spark plug on pot 1 seems to have bits of wet water on it.

If it's blown into the cylinder then the compression will be fine, however water pressure will be high

pretty much one of the most common symptoms of head gasket failure - if its got lots of steam even when warm commin out of the exhaust then thats a bad sign of failure, if its got a missfire with water in the cylinder/plug but compression fuel n ignition are good then thats another bad sign

the other is water n oil mix but sounds like you have just got a leak between the cooling system and a cylinder

when the heads off, obviosuly do a skim, but make sure you check that the block sint pitted around the water holes - common thing is to have a head gasket n skim n the problem still being there cos the block has been eroded away!

My old XR2i hydraulic'd. That was fun, fortunately it happened on the drive while turning over rather than when running

tbh it happend n\just after i hit the rev limiter and my engine give a big backfire then all went downhill
