I know its not car related but got a problem basiclly i have being on bail for 9 months now i got arested when i came out of a club and some lad was hiting a girl so i broken his jaw and got arested for secition 18 wounding i have got to go back to the police staion on sunday yet again they have not charged me but it has gone on for ages now and its 9 months since i got arested wil they bail me again any advice will be of great help cheers zach .

 

I think for most violent offences they have to charge within a year?

When ive been bailed for assault ive been back in and charged within a coupe of weeks, but its only ever happened to me a couple of times so it might not be representative of what happens in other cases.

For driving stuff ive had to wait far longer to get summonsed but thats different cause no "charging" as such.

 

its a nightmere mate all i did was stop a girl from getting a kicking they have well draged it out carnt see them charging me now they would have done it by now what do you think

 

Seems unlikely, its not exactly going to be the case that new evidence pops up now.

So bloody inconvenient having to keep going back down there too

Stupid isn't it, you step in to do 'the right thing' and you end up in trouble.

Happened to me and a mate of mine about 10 years ago, this bloke was absolutely kicking fuck out of this bird, literally beat her to the ground and was booting her on the ground, we rushed over and grabbed hold of him and tore him off and sat him down out of harms way, next thing she runs over and starts booting us and telling us to leave him alone, its fucking insanity with some of these chicks.

 

Maybe they are waiting till he can talk again to take a statement!!!!

i know the last thing i need is to get locked up to much to lose, the police are not botherd treated me like a crimanal, i was in the cell with no fags for 22 hours i just realy do hope that they will drop it on sunday, and they dont bail me again it worries me that i have got to go in on a sunday got a feelin i am getting locked up till monday morning for court,last thing i need just when my life was going mint ie good money,meet a new bird, insted of the last nut case,and my boxing career was going well just for me to get locked up shite,i am getting to the stage now that i want to go find the lad i knocked out with a few nasty mates of mine and get the lad to drop it i dont know eny more.

 

just see how it goes on sunday mate.maybe worth speaking to a lawyer first tho or go in to the staton with a lawyer would be best imo

Thats exactly what happend to me about 15 years ago, came out of a club to see some bloke strangling his bird, I dragged him off but before i could do or say anything she jumped on my back and started biting my head!! took a big lump out the back of my head aswell the biatch...

From that moment on I never got involved in anyone elses arguments

 

how many times you been bailed,,,,,,, not sure about violent crimes but when me and my mates got nicked for being naughty boys we got bailed twice and on the 3rd time they could either charge us or lets us go,,,,,, as you can guess we was let go


but we did spend from friday night to monday morning in the police station whilst they raiding our homes

but we was proved inocent , well main ervidence was tampered sinwe was inocent

 

Haven't you got a Solicitor? He/She'll know what the law is. Plus its a good idea to turn up with one, as it will go away that much faster.

did 6mths on remand and ended up with 18mths jail.i dont think it
matter's how long ure on bail.

You can be bailed any number of times and there is no time limit. However, if they are repeatedly bailing you and not progressing the investigation it can be an abuse of process. There is no reason why a GBHB case should take 9 months to progress.

You will not be locked up on Friday as they cannot create a new reason to refuse bail if the circumstances haven't changed so don't worry there. Even if charged they will bail you seeing as you have already been on bail for 9 months.

If not charged I would speak to the Officer in the Case who will be a DC or DS. Do NOT get arsey with the bloke. Politely explain that this case has ruined your life and that the last 9 months have been hell. Chances are the bloke does sympathise with you. Getting him on side could help when he next speaks to the CPS and he may be able to nudge them in the direction of an NFA (no further action).

If you are charged do not make any reply to the charge.

However, I would say that the length of time elapsed is a good sign. If it was that striaght forward a case they would have charged you long ago.
