I've got a mint 3 door cos, apart from a cracked dash, which is now really doing my head in. I'm thinking of replacing it with one off a later sierra (less the speaker hole) as these are cheap as (genuine 3 door dashes are going for over £300!!!!!) however I'd rather keep it looking original. Just wondering if anyone knows if there is anyone that can restore mine for reasonable money?

have you thoght about flocking it??? not everyones taste i know but mayb worth looking into

 

Keep an eye out in the scrappies and call Ford scrap specialists. You will find a crack-free original dash eventually. I found one, and I wish I had taken it out to sell, but I couldn't be asked at the time. While Mk1 Sierras are very hard to come by now, Ford used parts specialists will stock them. (I know a place in Leeds that will deffo have one).

The later dashes (less speakerhole) are much more resistant to cracking than the early ones, not to mention easier to find. I changed mine to the later-style and never looked back. Just keep in mind you will require the inner A-beam trim from the Mk2 Sierra as well, and will need redrilling a different mounting hole in the A-beam.

 

Hi, thanks for that. Don't think the flocking thing is really an option for me as I'm trying to keep it as original as possible. Probably will go for a later dash. Do you know what the place in Leeds is XR4ti man as I'm down in that part of the world quite a bit.

i used a later dash off a hatchback sierra and it fits with original a pillar trims no problem, although I have kep't my original cracked dash in case I want to put it back in and have it repaired

 

i used a saph cossie dash in the 3 door ,the whole thing cost 25£ for the lot,good fit too and better than a shafted original in my oppinion
