its not really alot of money too be getting a high profit from! property would be the way! buy a house in the south wales valleys, will get one for 70k, and you will earn 70 quid a week from it! which isnt bad really

thats what we done

we bought one in hexham for Ł115000 done it up,its now for sale at Ł185000.

there is a few good bargains about, like the next one we are doing,2 houses that have been turned into a b and b,now up for sale for Ł110000 but we will put it back into 2 houses and re sell the 2 houses,it will cost about Ł40000 to do it up,and both will resale for about Ł120000 each...

it's just finding them...at the right price...

Property market is a bit static at the moment, best bet is to buy off plan imo, sell when it's built. Unless you want to effort of renovating properties.

If you don't want the hassle of property the firstly use your tax free ISA allowance of 7k if you've not already.

Then consider the tax efficient National Savings products http://www.nsandi.com/

Then maybe something like an Investment bond which gives you access to a wide range of professionally managed investment funds with varying risks to suit your attitude.
Good for a tax efficient income if you are a higher rate tax payer too.

Really you need to speak to a financial adviser though mate.
http://www.unbiased.co.uk/ will find you a local IFA.
