just a little side project i did end of summer this year but nvr got round to posting....

she was my first car when i was 17 and had her since, been through many phases, nothin special but now a toy for knockhill.

back when she was on the road, not much changed since really, just black bonnet n no interior with buckets n harnesses.

the important bit is this:

the powerplant



1800 zetec running my custom inlet and single carb setup with 2L cams and a 4branch exhaust with ashley straight-through ;D oh and a 4 speed box. nothin special compared to some of the projects on here but being a poor student everything i do is on a budget!!!

well glensport theres an idea!!! its based on a cvh one so if uve got un i can make it zetec no probs, really easy tbh!!!


ha ha yeah the red gives u 10 brake extra, its essential. nah i just like red manifolds.

funny thing is the paint was sh1te and all burned off, the fumes bout killed me while goin round knockhill!!!!!!

my 4x4 mondeo is getting dragged over to a scrappies over your way soon as insurance company wrote it off. fook all really wrong with it and im sure yous could make summit out it will find out what one its going to if you wanna make your escort a 4x4

 

i think the 4wd will be a hinderance going into the bends. 2wd is more nimble and your lump will suffer a bigger power loss through the extra transmission. keep it fwd and use the brakes if you can. its easier to do this aswell.

im ordering new jets for her end of month then gonna start sorting out a proper setup on RR.

as for quicker than EFI, ive driven both, but never driven head to head, although feels way more responsive and quicker!

rough maths works out at 130 ish. time will tell i guess.

well had the new shell out last week....in the rain!!! nvr got much chance to get it flat out as whenever i had heat in tyres n brakes some idiot crashed off!!!!!!

however main points from tracknyt were...

- brakes are amazing!!!!!
- fueling problem doesnt occur if we fill the tank!!
- hot start problem but think thats fixed

am currently working, now and then, on making an inlet manifold for 40's.

i know most will say 40's are no good, u need 45's or more and yeah that woud be great but the 40's are just lyin there for the using!!!

i fugure 40s are better than single carb, no??

the future holds an lsd,40s and slicks!!!

 

glad you have been giving it a play mate, i cant wait to get the fiesta in a condition where i can give it a thrashing again

 

oh and 40s will flow up and past 170 bhp anyway so dont worry about that part mate
