fao..those too tight to buy the calender
do it ive just found out a family friend who ive known all my life and was like an aunt to me passed away last night from cancer
she leaves a husband and 3 kids behind
and her mum died of cancer too
she leaves a husband and 3 kids behind
My best friend's mum died on Friday night after being hit by a car, so I can imagine what you're going through. She was like my closest aunt and yes.. this time of the year makes it so much more amplified.
I am sorry for your loss.

This is what really pisses me off when the likes of Dave Escock & Lamo V have a dig about the calendar.
You arent really buying a calendar as such, you are giving £10 to a VERY worth while charity
The calendar is just a token of thanks for that donation.
So people, do the right thing and give a little.
Andy & Cola... sorry for your loss

ever thought that just maybe people may find the whole idea of a passionford babes calendar amusing in itself? quit pulling the its for cancer line either way
i too donate annually to cr, i too have lost family members to cancer, i too would sooner have a proper pin up calendar but each to their own

fyi.. my aunt died of BC 4 years ago. I as well as other members of my family have joined a donate scheme where we donate an PA figure spread over 10 months. its currently £40pm i think, i dont know as its all DD.
but if my calculations are correct thats around £400 pa
I fail to see how mentioning that one of the dorises posing in the calender looks like a BLOKE is against the sale of the calender or the BC charity!
so kindly STFU :P
Sorry if we're not up to your pin up standard Matt

And im not being funny but cant we make sure this doesnt turn into a post bickering about peoples personal opinions on the calendar OR any one who dont wana buy one....
Have a little respect just for this one

I can't see what anyone's donw wrong here, including Dave and Damo.
I don't donate to cancer charities, but I have this time by buying this calendar.
Maybe it's raised my awareness about donating a bit more, but I do plenty of charity work all year round, and as such, no-one should have to justify their purchase.
Not having the "passionford community spirit" as much as the next person doesn't necessarily make you less "charitable" per se.......
There's no negatives here....... money to good causes, some birds in skimpy outfits - everyone's happy

if you want the likes of pon whacking one out over a picture you then thats down to you and your self respect ROFLOL
yeah yeah dave & matt - like kim says lets not turn this one into "my views are this and that on the calendar" post.
Anyway, more importantly Andy, i'm so sorry to hear about this. My friend Richard (the guy that designed and did alot of hard work for the calendar) lost his dad to cancer about 2 weeks ago, so seeing the amount of decent responses to his hard work has made him feel easier about the whole situation. I am overwhelmed at the majority of pf'ers out there willing to give their hard earned cash in return for a calendar, I think you should all be VERY proud of yourselves
My feelings really are with those who are losing people to this and the people who have been diagnosed with it, hopefully passionfords contribution will help all those who are lucky enough to be with us this christmas

I dont really care too much about peoples opinion in all honesty, but theres a time an place for voicing opinions and i dont think this is it thats all
Its not about who has given what... or how much.
To suggest that one of the girls in the picture looks like a bloke is just heartless, You might think it and have a little joke about it with mates... but really to post it on a forum on the post that is talking about the calendar in my opinion is wrong.
Same as Damo saying about the girls aloud calendar being bigger and half the price.
And Matt.... perhaps the girls arent all stunners......
You cant take away the fact these girls got off their arses and did something worthwhile for other people, not themselves.
And all you cnuts can do is critisise and make snidey comments about the girls !
It is YOU that should SHUT THE FCUK UP !!!!
The spectre of cancer hangs over so many people
My Dad had cancer... and luckily, thanks to a good surgeon and the nurses at Primrose Ward in Bedford Hospital he's all clear.
So perhaps this is why it pisses me off when people poke fun at others or critisise people for trying to make a difference

Andy, firstly following from your post at the start, sorry to hear anbout this loss
To everyone else
My charity donations are my own business..
I DO understand EXACTLY how Cancer affects families/people.
As much as I wasn't particularly close to him, MY uncle died on my 21st Birthday after a long hard and not very nice battle with Cancer, he hadnt even reached his fifties.he didnt smoke drink etc etc ... MY mum (her older brother) was distraught... It STILL has a big impact on her life nearly 8 years on... I could relay a couple of other instances close to me/my family but again thats my own business and this thread isnt about mines bigger than yours.
I would imagine a majority of the users on this BB have in someway been affected or know someone who has been affected by Cancer...
I honestly Dont see how a Sarky comment from someone as "little" as I, is going to make the blindest bit of difference to those who have/might want to BUY this calender.. Besides it REALLY IS tiny
BTW I should add, even though I said it, I prob wont even buy the Girls Aloud calender either... But IMO it is still better value

deffo... the hollyoaks rag is MUCH better....
......hang on, that was a fleeting statement.. IS it better?
they too have a fair amount of wronguns
what IS the best calender out?
do they do a swedish blondes one?
Omg what the hell is going on ok so everyone has your own opinions on this calender so what if you dont want to buy simple dont wtf is all this arguing all about cos its getting on my fucking nerves
Ok yes if you want to compare it to other calenders then it is a bit smaller than most and maybe it costs more than most but we did it for a bloody good reason and i for one am very proud of what we achieved
For everyone that has been or is still affected by cancer im deeply sorry it is the worst thing and far too many lives have been lost to it
So Andy and Cola im sorry to hear about what has happenend
So can we just leave it there please !

Chip and all, thanks. It's absolutely awful and I'm not sure how we'll make Christmas and into the future. They were crossing the road at a crossing, but the SOBER driver was too thick and too fast to notice the RED light and the THREE people crossing.. so as well as getting a calendar can people try to drive with their eyes OPEN!
As for the calendar I say fair play to them. There is absolutely no way on earth I'd have ever posed on it, but that's an esteem (or piss-taking avoidance tactic) issue rather than a charity one. The money's going in the right place and as Rich says, there's scantily clad ladies... so why are people whinging?

4 years ago yesterday my Dad passed away to cancer
I'm donating this months wages which is about £2.9k to here:
http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/
..I done it because I can and wanted to and not for a pat on the back, etc, etc.... If I can make one ounce of difference then I'm happy with that
Your friend was with her mum?
That makes it even worse, having that picture in your mind
When i was younger my best mate was killed the same way, his mum was holding his hand at the time, she saw the car, dived to the pavement, tried to drag him with her but failed to do so properly and the car smashed into him and killed him.
We were 9 at the time

no.. It means I looked at the calender and GENUINELY thought that one of the bokes had slipped in to the picture!
I see no underlying tones that suggest I'm trying to belittle the charity or the reason the calender was inspired / created

Fcuk me talk about a democracy, its like being in North Korea..............Me personally i'd rather just give them £10.00. How much did this bloody calender cost to make anyway(not a dig BTW) but it sounds to me a better option to just give CR a tenner, as they get it all.
Cancer effects everyone in some way, shape or form.............So i think everyone should just chill! We could make the biggest thread known to man with comments from people who have know / who are suffering from it.
Sorry to hear about your loss Andy - I lost my Mum to cancer a month before Christmas 7 years ago.
Christmas has never been the same since really but all I can say is stick around people you care about/who care about you!
Cheers,
Andy
