i cant seem to get the idea of them,i am sure i must be missing an important part of my grey matter.......

 

Its just a bigger and better alternative to the internal one, all works exactly the same way though in terms of basically just being a way to allow exhaust gas to "miss" the turbo and hence prevent excessive boost.

 

ahhhhh so are they worth it????????

or is it only for big bhp cars???

 

Depends on the turbo, on things like a T3/T34 they arent needed at all IMHO as the standard gate is more than up to the job.

On something like a KKK K16 when running lots of nitrous though for exmaple the standard wastegate cant cope so its well worth doing.


What application are you thinking of it for (ie the spec of your saph), ive lost track of what you drive mate!
